Me No Likey: Too Matchy Matchy!!

So let me tell you first hand: I was the matchy matchy queen back in the day! In Jr. High school you could not tell me I wasn't fly! I even convinced my Mother to buy me 5 different backpacks, all of which I would switch up to match my ensemble for the day. I guess that was the beginning of my current obsession with handbags. That said, I am talking about over 10 years ago....and I have since realized that this is NOT fashion. Matching colors is one thing, but monogram Louis Vuitton print is a whole other ball game. I mean seriously BRANDY! Who told you this was okay? You know I love you and that amazing voice but I truly cannot get with the LV Mini Monogram Lin bag and boots combination. I think it looks tacky. A simple brown boot would have been juuust fine.

P.S. Mr. Piano man and Camouflage are two songs I recommend off of the new album Human.

Me No Likey: No, No, No!

So I try to stay away from getting too harsh on celebs, but sometimes they are just asking for it! Case in point:

LIL' KIM at the Sex and the City movie premiere in this pink and orange number. I'm sure everyone threw on some big designer since they were going to this particular movie premiere , but designer or not, Kim just completely misses it. And the addition of this rhinestone belt does not help the situation at all.

MICHELLE WILLIAMS has the awkwardness of a 12-year old girl going through puberty. She just always has a little something that throws her look off. In this case however, it is a lot of somethings! Honestly, I am very upset at her stylist (if she has one), for allowing her to walk out of the house, let alone onto the red carpet with this on. The dress is hideous and she really needs to re-evaluate wearing white shoes....it is just not ok.

GAYLE KING, also at the Sex and the City movie premiere wore this floral dress that I don't agree with. I am not a fan of "matchy matchy" pieces and whatever she has going on her is definitely that. Shoes, bag, and what I think is a wrap or a jacket....all a no no. Ok, now that I've looked a little longer at the pic, it's not that bad...but still Gayle, you can do better.

Me No Likey: Dressing in the Dark Are We?

Some of these people looked like they got dressed without the help of a little thing we call lights! I don't post many of these until I get a collection of some outfits that really throw me for a loop, and this week, some people did just that! lol Here we go:

DIDDY'S Mom JANICE COMBS is not the best dresser. I think she can use help in various departments: fashion, beauty, hair, etc. With a son such as Diddy (a fashionista himself), I find it very hard to believe that he does not give her advice. I know she's his mom, but come on....she just doesn't ever really look nice. In this shot in particular, she has on a dress that looks like she is about to lounge around the house. It's extremely too bog and the pose she's striking does not help, at all. Me nooo likey!

Next, MEL B decided to rock her favorite print ever....Cheetah! She even carries her baby around in an animal print, specifically leopard/cheetah, car seat. This look just does not do it for me and the boots look completely out of place. They do not go wit the dress at all, and I would pair them only with jeans or tights, not this.

America's Next Top Model winner JASLENE GONZALES usually hits or misses it. She looks really cute or everything is totally off. Here she pairs a plaid dress that is obviously too big for her tiny body, tights, and a pair of white strappy shoes. Now all of these pieces worn right could be amazing, but together, I just don't dig it...me no Likey!

Me No Likey: Grammy Fashion

So, here are a few of the things that I did not like from this weekends festivities.

The dress that rapper LIL MAMA had on reminded me of a nun. It was a very weird selection and I think it was the worst thing on the red carpet all week. The colors are what give it the nun look, and I do not know who her stylist is, but they need to be let go immediately!!! This is wrong in so many ways....*smh*

The next look that had my mouth wide open, and not in a good way, was CHRIS BROWN. He is usually pretty clean cut and attractive but I was not really feeling the red and white look he had going on here. It looks like a cheap prom outfit, and it's just too much. The red accents on the jacket make for a cheap look and it's just not nice.

RIHANNA
shocked me with this dress. I don't like it at all, and I'm suprised she decided to rock it this weekend. The floor length, long sleeve, turtle neck dress was not something I see her in, and it's just a dress that does not posses the funky edge that RIHANNA does.

This woman never really ends up in my "Me No Likey" section because the people that are usually here are people who surprise me by what they are wearing. If I did one of these weekly, JANICE COMBS would likely be here more often than not. I'm not hating on her style, it's just way to over the top for my taste, but she is only doing her, and I can't be mad at that. The contacts, the fur, the blonde wigs and shiny clothes never go anywhere, they simply change style and color. But like I said, she's just doing her. More power to her!

Me No Likey

Here are the ensembles that did absolutely nothing for me this week. There was no in between, they completely miss the mark. Or in Kim's case missed the "MARC."

The neon catastrophe that you see before you is none other than LIL KIM. Now I usually give a pass, she's just wild and so is her style. But there is n excuse for this! I do not care if Marc Jacobs sent these pictures directly from his line, shoot I don't care if he hand sewed them his self! It should not have left the runway, because that is exactly what the entire outfit looks lie, a show piece. Even if the colors weren't so bright, why would she put that huge belt over this suit? And that scarf has got to go! It just a miss from head to toe! Yuck!!

Not that I expect anything more from video voxen and the self proclaimed "Boss B*tch," ANGEL "LOLA LUV," but I was sure rolling up our tees and tying them up in the back to expose the mid drift went out in the late 90's? But apparently I was wrong. I know she wants show off her both popular and controversial assets but she looks like a high-schooler from back in the day who's about to get a ticket for breaking the dress code. Right?

What were you possibly thinking VIVICA?! I mean really....what made your choose this as your outfit for the red carpet?! The look confuses me. She is covered from head to toe and she looks rather matronly. Honestly she looks like a church lady. She is exposing no skin, no neck, no arm, no leg, and no hair! And I'm not saying you need to do that necessarily be sexy and stylish, but this long sleeved turtleneck Lycra dress is NOT the way to go! And all the chains hanging really threw me off. That belt and that huge cross necklace is horrible! Stop it Viv!

Me No Likey: My Favs Disappoint

I was very disappointed to see two of my favorite Fashionista's step out in these outfits. I love they way these ladies dress most of the time, but these particular ensemble just didn't do it for me.

First, BEYONCE steps out with her man JAY Z reminding me of a teenage girl that does not really have any fashion sense. Granted, I understand that she is representing the affordable version of her line DEREON, but if this is a preview of that section of the line, I have to say that I am not not at all a fan! The neon colors against the black makes for a very cheap (not is a good way) look. The pedal pusher style sweats are not in style and the shoes and the accessories make my stomach turn. I am not, and have never been fond of the neon accessories, (like B's hoop earrings), and the shoes remind me of when I see older women wearing heels with all of their tracksuits. The look is all wrong, hopefully it was just a one time thing, as I am a fan of B both on wax and the runway that is her life.

Next is KELIS, who just looks to me like she has too much going on. The leather jacket is one thing, but it has a very thick fur collar. The shirt under it is cropped, and actually looks like the fur may be attached to it, which is even worse. The high-waist look does not do JONES justice with the outfit at all here. She also decided to jump on one of the trends of the season wearing open toed shoes with colored socks and it just doesn't work in her favor. She looks like a woman who does not know how to dress herself, and just threw on whatever was lying around. I love KELIS and her style becuase she's different, so I can't fault her for stepping out of the box on this one, but I can say that I do not like it.

Me No Likey: Shinig a Little Too Much.....

I saw some very very cute looks these past few weeks, but I have unfortunately also seen some not so nice looks too.

SHAR JACKSON was a little too shiny when she stepped out this particular night. I don't know if it is the photography, and the dress looks better in person, but it does not look good on camera. She over-did it with the matching stockings and the booties are not a very good selection for the outfit. Me nooo likey!

Owner of the popular blog site "Concreteloop.com," ANGEL showed us who was behind the keyboard at a Radar Magazine party, but unfortunately I am not feeling the dress she chose. It is too shiny, and takes away from the design of the dress. I am also not a fan of these types of dresses, with arm shawls, wraps, etc. It also looks a bit too tight, but it's only my opinion.

Next is KATE HUDSON who also took the shiny look to another level. I don't like this particular dress, it looks like two dresses sewn together. I don't like the boots with it, and the fact that it's silver from head to toe doesn't help.

JASMINE GUY wore a piece in which I believe to be a part of Kimora's KLS collection, that is also a little too shiny in my opinion. It looks like it is not a finished piece, and the black on black tights and shoes do not work here.

Last is ELISE NEAL, who over-did it with the gold color at a recent ED HARDY event. The whole outfit looks cheap, and I do not think the hoodie and the gold knee-high boots should be worn at the same time. It's too much.

Me No Likey: A little too much

These ladies disappointed me this week, by all over-doing it. Either they had on too many clothes, or what they had on was doing too much and was a little gaudy.

First is KEYSHIA COLE, who apparently fired her stylist. She was doing so well, but it seems her appearances on both TRL and 106 & Park knocked her off. First, she visited MTV studios wearing a beige and cream get-up that I am not particularly fond of. As I previously stated, I do not know why she insists on wearing undergarments as clothes, and this white lace bra is not attractive. The hat looks silly and I can't tell if it is a dress or if she layered all of these pieces. Me No Likey!

Next COLE visited BET looking a bit more furry. She decided to rock a tan and brown sleeveless fur coat, along with a black belt, tights and black patent leather knee high boots. The boots are different, they have an inward wooden heel, and I would not say that they are ugly, it is just that they were paired with this jacket. Try again Keysh!

Last is one of my fav people in Hollywood, well not really Hollywood, but she's one of my fav celebs. Model/Stylist MISA HYLTON-BRIM attended a hair show given by DJ Angie Martinez earlier in the week. I do not like what she has on at all. I am aware that New York is a very cold place around this time, but come on. The shape of all of the pieces makes her look larger than she is, and they just do not compliment each other. The dress may be cute on it's own, but along with the cropped fur coat, it does not work. The thigh-high suede boot hides the definition of her leg, making it look very large, especially becuase of the black stocking she wore. There is simply too much going on here. Me no likey, Misa!

As I said, I know it is cold in NYC, but layering needs to be done a particular way, and this is not it. TEYANA TAYLOR, whose claim to fame is Sweet 16, and is also the newest signed artist to the Star Track label. She has on too many clothes, and I know she has her own style, and it is semi-masculine, however I do not even think I would like the look on a man. It's toooo much!

Last is PEPA, of the rap duo "Salt & Pepa" pictured with Missy Elliot. The only thing I don't like about this outfit is that it is a signature FENDI jacket. It does not look nice, even though, it is black on black, which usually gives the signature print on clothes a pass (see Kanye West in black on black GUCCI jacket). But this time it just doesn't work. Me no likey.

Me No Likey: Are they for real?

This is going to be quick, becuase I know some of you can see what is obviously wrong in some of these pictures.

First, is probably my biggest disappointment of the week, DENZEL WASHINGTON. I am one of the many women who view this man as the sex symbol that he is, but when he throws on clothes like this, it makes me re-think his swagger. This is wrong in every possible way. Why in the world would he put on this coat/shirt thing? It is sooo big and I am totally not feeling the baggy look. And to pour salt on the wound, he puts these white things on his feet. *SMH* The sneakers are NOT, I repeat NOT okay. Pauletta is not too hot in this pic herself, but she is not issue here. Oh Denzel....please don't do this again. It looks bad, especially after seeing you look oh so handsome in the American Gangster tailored suits!

Also at the premiere of AG, is NEICY NASH in what looks like a denim dress. This brings back memories, from about 8 years ago. This looks like something that people rocked back in "the day" and I'm not feeling it at all.

This next couple is always impressing me when it comes to style, and the only reason they landed here was because of Ms. ALEXIS' shoes. I know, I know....thinking outside of the box is encouraged, but I just cannot bring myself to agree that these are hot. The dress is nice, it looks like she's wearing a piece of artwork, and the accessories are fitting of the look. Its just those feet, Me no likey.

Also spotted at the Murakami event for MOCA was JOY BRYANT in an outfit I could not really appreciate. It just looks like too much is going on and there are too many articles of clothing here. The layered dress, the tights, the jacket...it's all looks crowded. I don't like the shoes either. Maybe next time....

Last is a woman who usually looks fabulous, but I just don't know what KELLY ROWLAND was thinking with this hot pink velvet suit. Actually as, I look at it more and more, it's not that bad. She has a very cute figure and it kind of works....but since it was my first reaction to place it in this section...I'm going to go with my first instinct.

Me No Likey: The Weekends Worst

I don't post these often, unless some things are truly disturbing and unfortunately that was the case this weekend. I won't spend too much time on it but here it is:

Keri Hilson disappointed at the Fashion Rocks in London. I don't like anything about the look. The hair looks funny, the shoes are not hot and the leather dress just looks like it is making her hot. I'm sure its a Dolce & Gabbana piece because of the hardware belts that they are incorporating in their looks this season, however it is not for her. Try again Hilson, I am usually feeling her looks, I think she was trying to "HIGH-FASHION" it a little too much and it went bad. :(

Next is actress Kym Whitley at the 5th Annual "Hoodie Awards." And not that I expected much more from her, but I am really disturbed by this look. It is extremely too busy, and as I have already voiced, I do not dig white boots at all, especially these kind. The dress has way to much going on and the jacket and bag must go. I love her, she's hilarious, but I know she was not intending for us to laugh at her clothes, try again my love!

Golden Brooks aka "Miya" for all of you Girlfriends fans, rarely lands on any ones "best dressed" list but I never think her choices that bad. I just sometimes think she needs to get an in-home makeup artist or take some lessons on blending. The clothes are never hideous or anything, but at the T-Mobile sidekick launch, I felt differently. I do not like this dress, whatever showroom her stylist borrowed this from should have gotten her size. It looks too big to me and to top it off, she paired it with my fav shoe of the season the YSL "Tribute Pump." She does the shoe no justice that night, but I sill love Miss Miya! You have to! How can you not?!

Ok, this is the last one I promise! At the same party as Brooks is pictured at above is singer Omarion and rumored girlfriend. At first I was just going to place her on here for the black boots and the jeans she chose, because I do not like the way they come together, but I changed my mind. I want to focus this on Omari. He is known somewhat for his stylish image, always going for the shiny Christian Audiger type style shirts, fitted, but still baggy jeans etc. etc. But at the launch party for the Sidekick LX he seemed to have lost it. I do not know if he was simply trying to take a chance or what but I think he failed tonight. He looks uncomfortable due to the overload of accessories. Anyone who knows me knows I oppose of the whole sunglasses @ night unless a valid reason is in tow, and the scarf and jacket make the look seem forced to me. Not to mention it's way to "matchy matchy" to me...blue glasses with blue shirt, the yellow in the shoes picking up the yellow in the shirt. I just don't like it. No No O....Me no likey! :( xoxo

Me No Likey: Red Carpet No No's

The Red Carpet is not only a walkway to celebs' exclusive destinations, it's also a chance to showcase your ensemble for the night. Unfortunately these people didn't dress to impress this week.

Missy, something is SO reminiscent about this top to me. Hmmmm.....is it "I Can't Stand the Rain?"

VP of Universal Records Sylvia Rhone should use some of that $$ to hire a stylist. What is this? I can't even comment because I honestly don't know what is going on here *undecided* :-/

Sheryl Lee Ralph does not look completely bad, but what in the gold boot hell possessed her to put these on. I think that's what landed her here....the dress can pass on it's own but the boots must go!

Me No Likey: What NOT to Wear

I'm loving the dresses that LeToya & Solange chose, but that sequined cropped jacket that Solange decided to add to the mix messed the look up.

At VH1's Hip Hop Honors, Keyshia Cole took the stage, and while I'm sure her voice was amazing this outfit was not. I'm just not feeling the bustier and wife-beater combo, she should have gone without that undergarment. Oh yeah...what's going on near the ankles? I can't tell if all that nonsense is coming from the shoes or the pants. The outfit looked much better when she let loose with Ciara and Keri Hilson @ the After-party!

And last but not least....just for a little laugh we have: Hottie. And I won't even waste my time commenting on this! xoxo
