It's been over a year....

...since i last posted on my blog. when life happens there's really nothing you can do about it. i've been working and living life, having fun, living every moment like it's my last...but i have missed blogging. i am going to jump back in but things will probably be a little different this time around.

i'm still figuring out just what type of outlet this will be but it will most definitely still be fashion-related and lifestyle centered. that said, let's get back to business.... ;)

Sorry...

To my readers:

Please forgive me for not posting in over a week (or more).....I have absolutely not found the time to do so but I promise I'll get back into the swing of things! I know when you come here you want to see updates and I'd me mad @ me too. I've gotten some mail...none bad, but with the gist of "where are you," "post something," lol. I will try very hard to keep it current.

Love you all!

Love Jess

Check out my article!

I attended Children’s Holiday Bowl Charity Event yesterday hosted by Holly Robinson-Peete and Akon. It was so cute, all the little celeb children running around having a good time. I love it when stars flex their philanthropic muscles! Check out my write up at Rap-Up.com

Which Atlanta Housewife are YOU?

I took the test and I was kind of shocked by the results. The one housewife that gets on my nerves the 2nd most is the one I am! But when you read the questions, and the way they're worded, I see why I am "Sheree." She's hilarious to me, but this is the summation of why you scored the way you did at the end of the quiz:

You value class above all else. Reputation is important to you and
you want a good one. You throw lavish parties and have fabulous connections, and
people aspire to have the status you maintain. Money isn't everything but you
believe its important top keep up a certain lifestyle. And honey, yours is firece.
This is too funny! To take the test and find out which housewife you are head over to Bravotov.com. Let me know how you do!

I VOTED!!!!!

I just returned frOm the polls and I am proud to be able to say that I was a part of this historical moment. When I walked to the booth, I took a a deep breath, got a little emo (emotional for those who don't know me, lol), but not to the point of tears I was just proud! The line was super short compared to some that I've seen.
My mom & I were all prepared with newspapers, beachchairs and our ipods, but none of that was necessary. We were there probably a total of 30 minutes, voting inlcuded. I can't wait to watch the returns! I have to head to The Game's video set for a song he's doing w/Neyo to cover it for Rap-Up, but they better have a little TV or something where I can keep track of what's happening!!

VOTE!!! VOTE!!! VOTE!!!!

I cannot stress how important it is! GO VOTE! Not only for the president but for the propositions that your state has up for voting. There are some serious issues on the ballot, so get educated and know what you're doing when you get to the polls. If you've never voted before and are not sure where to go to do so, click here to find out. I am so proud today!!! The countdown begins....*anxious*

Halloween Recap!

So I think people have some of the most creative costumes, and I love seeing all of the different ideas and executions of them! After a little viewing and perusing of the internet. I found the winner for most original celeb costume and I think it's USHER as HANCOCK. I loved it and immediately knew what he was!
Now for my night in Hollyweird!!! Like I said, I was Betty Rubble, of the Flinstones, and I hit the streets of WeHo (West Hollywood for those who don't live out here) for a very interesting, entertaining, eventful night! Here is the whole little family, minus the father's lol. Betty Rubble (me), Bam Bam Rubble (Enrique), Wilma Flinstone (Gentria), and Pebbles Flinstone (Kedra). Hilarious right?!
Here are my awards for the night in Hollywood:
Most Original and Clever Costume:
Mail Order Bride
Funniest Costume:
Reno 911 Cop Lieutenant Jim Dangle
Most Fabulous Tranny Costume:
Beyonce in the "Single Ladies" Video (honestly, one of my fav...and yes he painted himself brown for the night, lol):
Most Politically Conscious Costume:
A Voting Booth (she was really having people do a mock vote, and keeping track. When I voted the results were: Obama-47, McCain-13....sounds good to me! :)
And one that I just thought was cute:
Brad & Angelina w/the clan of babies
Fun times in Hollyweird! I hope everyone had a fun & safe night.

Blast from the Past!

My how times have changed! Look @ the sisters several years back, isn't this funny? You got to love it!

My Halloween Costume!

This year I'm going to be BETTY RUBBLE from The Flintstones for Halloween. It was a very last minute and this is the first year I made my own costume! Usually I go to the costume shops and buy the already put together ensemble, but money is tight so I'm getting creative! Initially I went to Micheal's with my BFF to help her put together her Pebbles Flinstone outfit and ended up leaving with the materials to make my Betty Rubble costume.

I've never done this before, but it was so much fun, and I'm proud of the outcome! I bought 2 blue t-shirts and a large white shell charm for a necklace. I came home and started cutting! I cut the edges jagged to create the "Flinstone effect" and used the iron on fusion netting to stick the pieces together. I sewed the top part to close up top part of the dress. I had a long wig from last year when I was a hippie so I cut that short, and made a bow with the scraps from the t-shirt and stuck a bow in the middle. This is going to be good! I will take pictures so you can see the outcome!

My Top 3 Songs of the Moment:

Just for the hell of it, here is what's blasting on my iPod speaker dock:
1. Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) by BEYONCE....I have managed to learn the entire video. Was I sore the next day? Absolutely, but was it worth it? YES!
2. Go Girl by CIARA....this song grew on me and now I can't turn it off. Now learning this video is damn near impossible; levitating splits on chairs, jumping into splits from tables?! Needless to say, I moved on, lol.
3. Superhuman by CHRIS BROWN & KERI HILSON....I gotta get my sing on and this song does the job! I can sing both parts loud enough so that I actually sound good to myself. :)

Is Pharrell Channeling Thriller?

It looks like PHARRELL is really trying to bring back the Thriller jacket, as he has been seen on more than one occasion in it. He reversed the colors, but it's still the same exact style, down to every little stitch and pleat.
He recently wore the jacket to the BET Hip Hop Awards and it was then that I realized that he was really serious about it, lol. He has also been spotted wearing it to numerous performances including, the Diesel 30th Anniversary party in Brooklyn. What do you think? Is this style worth resurrecting (no pun intended)?

P.S. If this is something you're considering as a Halloween costume, this is the place to get it.

What's wrong with my iPod?!

This is really random, but I am just wondering if anyone else has this problem with their iPod?

I noticed a black spec on the screen and didn't think much of it, I take really good care if my iPod, as it is my life! I love music. As time went on, a span of 3 days, the spec grew into a blot, then a line that over the 3 day got longer and longer stretching over 1/2 of my screen! Now my concern is that it will eventually black out my whole screen and I will be DEVASTATED! It's over a year old and people keep telling me it's time for a new one, but I have continually bought new ones every year and I refuse to do it again! Please if this problem sounds familiar to anyone, let me know if you know what I should do! Thanks!

Trend Alert: Knuckle Rings!!!

Both RIHANNA and SOLANGE have been spotted rocking these huge knuckle rings while out and about and performing. RIHANNA wears a diamond-encrusted one that says "BAD" and SOLANGE wears hot pink four finger rings on each hand. I believe one says "HOOD" and the other says "LOVE." I'm sure about the love, but not the "hood."

I'm sure this is not the last of the trend we'll see. We've seen the rings resurfacing for a while now, but this over sized one looks like it is going to become very popular.

Even Lauren Conrad of "The Hills" has been spotted n a 2 finger ring, though not as huge. I personally like the dainty one Lauren wears on the show. You can get one of your own over at JewelryByNet.com.

Chris?!

I'm sorry, this post has nothing to do w/fashion whatsoever...but I just had to. CHRIS BROWN...is that you?! Someone is growing up, huh? I've always looked at him as a 'little boy' but something is telling me that I (along with may other people) will begin to change my mind. If only Bow Wow could go through this transformation....Lord knows he is still pretty much 12 to me. lol
