Fashionable Duos: Suits and Sexy Dresses

Well, this is my first post since coming off of vacation and I'm happy to be back! Some very fun fashionable events happened while I was gone, and please believe I was right on top of everything. I don't want to bore you by recapping all of the things I've missed, so I'll just pick up where the most recent events left off.

JADA PINKETT & WILL SMITH are simply fabulous! I love everything about their style, and they compliment each other so well.
WILL in this black suit and navy tie, that fits him ever so well, along with JADA in this green peacock inspired dress. I love this classy polished look on both of them!

Next is JANET JACKSON and JERMAINE DUPRI, who were hitting up just about every fashion show in Paris last week. I love this skirt she has on and the YSL Leopard Tribute pumps don't hurt either! :) JD rocks a casual look here, dressing up a t-shirt and jeans with a blazer that accents Janet's bag. Loves it!

One of my new favorite couples, (despite the fact that LANCE was my newest celebrity crush, lol) EVA MARCILLE & LANCE GROSS looked absolutely amazing at the NAACP Theater awards. Her dress is adorable and so season perfect, while GROSS wears this gray suit that I swear he was made to wear. They are, at least in my opinion, one of the most beautiful couples in Black Hollywood.

In a "blacked out" look, actor FOREST WHITAKER and his wife KEISHA WHITAKER attended Nelson Mandela's 90th Birthday party, which is amazing by the way! Happy Birthday! Although I don't dig KEISHA'S thin to the point that she looks sick look, she is rocking that dress! They didn't do too much with the look and I think that's what I like about it. Very good look for the both of them.

Fashionable Duos: John Legend & Christine Teigen

I don't think anyone has noticed this couple quite yet, but I have been watching them and their fashion eye is amazing! She always looks fabulous as does Legend. One thing I've noticed in particular is that they are fans of 3 main colors: black white and silver/gray. Although the color selection is pretty narrow the styles and looks they pull off have a much wider range.

The first shot is the most recent of the recent couple's outings and I am in love with CHRISTINE's dress! The slight v @ the chest adds character and the patterned skirt, though it may not photograph particularly well, is adorable! Patent pumps and black clutch complete the look while legend oped for a "blacked out" look. He is sporting one of his favorite styles of tie, the "skinny tie." Along with the tie, LEGEND does a black dress shirt, slacks and shoes. They look absolutely gorgeous here!!

Next, staying in line with the black/white/silver theme, the couple attended the Grammy awards looking very elegant. TEIGEN's draped dress is very beautiful, and I love the color. JOHN decided to go for no tie this time around and I think it worked. She has the perfect figure for this type of material and she worked it! Cute!

JOHN has on the classic black and white suit here, with a loose tie, and CHRISTINE, a white chiffon/iridescent dress that met the middle of her thighs. The clutch thew in some color and the shoes brought some continuity These dresses cannot be worn by everyone, as they do not have much definition, but it looks great on her!

In this last shot, she convinces me that she was made for this style of dress. The dresses with the high waist, tiny skirts and strapless is a must, are soo cute and I love seeing them show up on the red carpet! I think it is two separate peieces,m but she put them together amazingly! Either way, it's a great look. The white pleated top, and satin belted black skirt work well with his white jacket and black tie. The full body shot shows his gray slacks, but it doesn't kill the look, it actually looks pretty good. [Thanks to VIEWIMAGES for these shots!]

We need to start watching them a little closer, they are one "FASHIONABLE DUO" to look out for in the future!

Fashionable Duos: Red Carpet Class

I was so amazed at how wonderful everyone looked on the Red Carpets for the past few days. First of all, a couple that I believe is one of the most attractive couples in Hollywood WILL & JADA PINKETT SMITH. They attended the screening for his new release "I Am Legend." Jada dons a very cute emerald green sequined dress, with frayed mesh at the bust, that fit her little petit figure so well. WILL wore a velvet pinstripe blazer, and I think what did it for me was the scarf. He looks amazing, and I think it is an Alexander McQueen scarf, but I'm not 100%. It fits him very well, as I am sure it is tailored.


SALLI RICHARDSON AND DONDRE WHITFIELD are also an amazing looking couple, and they wore the clothes to compliment their appeal, also to the same premiere as the Smith's. The champagne dress with the weaved detail at the stomach is absolutely amazing, and makes for beautiful piece. WHITFIELD looks stunning in his tux, and they both look fantastic together.

Fashionable Duos: Classy Couples

Here are a few couples that I thought accented each other well, and were especially fashionable. First is LAILA ALI and her husband an awards ceremony celebrating women athletes. The dress is cute, I love the color and his tie matched perfectly.

Next up are IMAN and DAVID BOWIE. They win my vote for best overall. I absolutely love this dress. The color is amazing and the detail on the neckline makes the dress. His suit was absolutely fab, looking as if it were freshly from Savile Row (if you don't know what that is...raise your fashion IQ, lol). And again....I'm really feeling that dress!

Rumored couple MARQUES HOUSTON and actress JENNIFER FREEMAN kept it casual at the premiere of their new horror movie "Somebody Help Me." I like the look together but I don't think the looks would have done anything for me independently of one another. Her dress is simple, and I think it's interesting that she chose red shoes and clutch to change up the look a bit. I'm undecided about it, but it's not bad. Houston on the other hand, wore a shirt that matched Freeman's dress pairing it with jeans, dress shoes, opting for a somewhat oversized black blazer. I don't think I like the "baggy" look....especially since tailored is "in." Also....the chest exposure is not something I find particularly attractive. However as I said before: they make a cute couple, both fashionably ans physically.

Another very stylish couple: TOM & KATIE CRUISE. Her little strapless number is so adorable, and I am loving the shape of the dress. The "poof" makes her look like a little princess. Tom...as usual, is stylish with his tailored suit.

Last but not least we have KERRY WASHINGTON and COMMON on the set of TRL this week. He is promoting his new single and his role in American Gangster. She is wearing a red eyelet thigh-length dress, while common rocks one of his signature hats with a t-shirt, vest, and jeans. They look cute together! xoxo

Fashionable Duos: Party Like A Rockstar

These Fashionable duos were all spotted out and about at various parties, and fashion week in Paris. First up we have Russell Simmons and his new pretty young thing Porschla Coleman (23) at the Hollywood Style Awards last week. He had to of course throw on his classic sneakers with the suit(not pictured)but it still looked nice. He opted for no tie, with his tailor made suit and it worked. Porschla slipped on a black silk form fitting knee length dress that hugged her in all the right places completing the stylish red carpet appearance.

Next is a duo who is not a couple, but rather good friends who both know how to dress themselves very well. It's Pharrell Williams and Kanye West @ the Louis Vuitton show in Paris for fashion week. The two are pictured together (and separately) so you can see their full ensemble [as always, you can click the pics photos to see them larger]. They, like Russell chose to go tie-less for the night, and I like it.



Last but not least are a casual couple who looked very fashionable while at Touch Weekly's 5th Aniversary at Tenjune last night. Jermaine took it back it the colorful hoodie, but it worked with Janet's choice to stay neutral in black. Lovin' it!

Fashionable Duos: Dressed Down but Still Fly

These 0h so fabulous couples have the fashion game on lock. Not only do they appear at various press events, award shows, fashion shows and parties turning heads with their threads of choice, but they also manage to impress while "dressed down" too. Kanye & Alexis, Nas & Kelis, and Beyonce & Jay Z (all pictured above) give t-shirt & jeans and flip flops & polos a whole new meaning. Take notes young couples.....take notes. xoxo

A Fashionable Duo: Taking Fashion Into Their Own Hands

Kanye West is putting the final touches on his clothing line "Pastelle" slated to come to a store near you next month (November 2007). While his fiance Alexis just premiered her new line "Ghita" during fashion week. The collection features flirty party dresses, which if I might say so myself are rather impressive. Sharing an equally large appetite for fashion and entertainment, this just may be the next super-star power couple. Look Out! xoxo
