Fashion Week Part 2

New York Fashion Week is officially over and the fashion greats have moved on to London but I just wanted to share some of the pieces that stood out for me. There are way too many to choose from so here are the few I could select:

Donna Karan - The rouching is to die for and I am loving the mix between workplace appropriate and sexy in this piece. I want it for my closet!

Halston - I mean, it's very hard to go wrong with Halston. The flowy pieces are so angelic to me and I am loving the colors for Spring. This piece in particular is one I am gunning for for my birthday. *fingers crossed*

Badgley Mischka - I am always down for a laid-back look and this is IT! I love the loose fitting pants and the white blouse is perfect! Her swag also adds a lot to the look but I think this is one I may try with my harem pants and a nice white top.

VMA Picks

So there were some amazing VMA fashions and I am loving that everyone seems to be taking more chances when it comes to their outfits. Kudos to all the stylists for pushing their clients not to play it too safe! Some of my favorites were:

KATY PERRY killed it in this very glam-rock look I love the whole thing and to throw some edge on it there are spikes coming from her sides! Amazing. Her body is out of this world.

I have been loving AMERIE'S style lately and last night was no different. This color is perfect on her skin and if you know m you know I'm a fan of the batwing sleeve on anyone. Well done!

Another stand-out look came from BEYONCE. I love that she has been going shorter and shorter lately....and really showing off those tones and near-perfect gams. And who can go wrong with a little red dress?

Little sis SOLANGE also looked stunning in this gorgeous mini. I am in love with her style and I think her ensemble looks fab here! The short hair absolutely works for her and goes great with this outfit. I love the strong shoulder on this dress!

Last bu not least is the gorgeous KERI HILSON. I love the plunging neckline and Keri is very tall so this works very well. The pantsuit it definitely going to be seen on the red carper this season and I love this take on it...super sexy with a bit of masculinity thrown in there.

Take a Walk on the Wild Side

Animal Style anyone? No, not the fries from In-n-Out (only the people w/that fast food chain will get that), but the edgy, fierce and fashionable jewelry that has hit the scene as of late.

I have been a fan of lion, tiger and jaguar jewelry for a while now, but I never thought anyone saw where I was coming from. Apparently I was so wrong. I am loving the variety of jewelry I've seen and here are some of my more recent favorites. The prices range from $4.00 to almost $500.00 so you can definitely find something that suits your price range.

Rachel Roy for Macy's

Speaking of Ms. Roy, she has teamed up with Macy's to create the most amazing line I've seen in a while! I am so excited for it, I already have some of my fav must-have pieces picked out. The collection will debut in Macy's stores this fall and I can't wait!

And I've been looking for this type of vest for about a year now and I'm so happy that I will be able to rock one this fall!

So excited!!!!!

ESPY Roundup

So the fabulous ESPY awards were last night, where the hottest sports stars gather to be honored, awarded and celebrated for their outstanding performances through the year. Needless to say everyone was stepping on to the red carpet in the best of the best....or were they?

I thought my girl SERENA WILLIAMS looked amazing and I loved this color on her. I love the soft and hard combination her, as it flowy but still structured in the torso area. Nice!

I was a bit confused by RASHIDA JONES' look, as I'm not a huge fan of short white dresses all the time. It has to be something really speacil for me not to scrutinize. But I was disappointed at both dress and shoe selection. Some of these startlets think that you can throw a Louboutin on with anything, and that's just not the case!

Not short and black is another story....it's almost always a success1 JAMIE PRESELY killed it in this long sleeve, short black number. I'm almost sure the back is out, though I haven't seen it. But even if it's not, this is still a very hot look.

Last but not least....well maybe in this situation, are KOBE & VANESSA BRYANT. He looks nice, but he obviously thought this 2001 Prom dress with cut-outs was okay for his wifey, and so did she. It's definitely not cute and I can't imagine why she would think it was. The cut is all wrong, the hem is weird and her breasts are extremely too huge for this. They look like they hurt....and once again those Louboutin's are not for this look. Try again Mrs. Bryant! But I still love you though....lol.

My MET BALL Picks!

Here are my picks for the highly anticipated MET Ball that took place in New York last night.

KERRY killed it! She's always on point but I was really digging this funky yet classy look! The colors are perfect and the shoes are hot! Go Kerry!
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE had one the most beautiful women on his arm last night: JESSICA BIEL, and her dress was gorgeous! I'm not usually a fan of red dresses, but she and AMBER ROSE changed my mind!

IMAN was stunning in this strapless champagne floor length gown. Her skin looks amazing with this color, as does ALEK WEK'S!
This may just be my favorite look of the night, particularly because of the way this color contrasts with her skin. It so beautiful, as is she.

My Picks: R&B Chicks

So people have really been out and about and the R&B chicks are really dressing to impress! I am loving so much of what I see! Here are a few of the ensembles that I thought stood out!
Of course, BEYONCE turned it up with her Balmain dress at her Obsessed movie premiere last night. Loving the train and the Louboutins!
MONICA is usually dress so cute, but i really liked this studded  vest/jacket she wore to a BET event last night! It goes so cute with the jeans and the shoes. The boots are done! Love it.
CIARA changed her hair up a bit, but followed suit when it came to the Louis Vuitton spicy Sandals. Even though I think these shoes will soon be worn out, as every celeb is rocking them lately, she still looks great! I love the jacket and glasses!
While overseas promoting her new project, KERI HILSON also looked rocker chic in this skin tight ensemble topped off by a stone washed denim cropped vest. She loves her peep toe booties!
Making the list again, BEYONCE really made me want this ruffled trench! Her Ruthie Davis platforms were also amazing!

Las but not least, KIM KARDASHIAN put together some very key pieces to make one great look! I love the color of the skirt, and the leather jacket and belt set it off, I would so wear this, head to toe!

Are You Going Green?

March 17, 2009 - St. Patrick's Day....while most would say bring on the booze I'm saying bring on the shoes....and bags, and clothes! :) We all know there are some amazing pieces out there right now, but I've complied a list of my fav green items to help you go green (literally) this St. Patty's Day.

Keeping it comfortable and stylish, these Marc by Marc Jacobs sandals are the perfect green, and they can go with tons of outfits and can be accessorized up or down. They retail for $225.00 and you can grab a pair over at Eluxury.com

This croc flap clutch form Nancy Gonzalez is perfect for St. Patty's Day and the rest of Spring in this gorgeous Lime color. It's going set you back $1,400 and it's available at neimanmarcus.com

Juicy Couture has this very cute three-quarter sleeve wool coat. I love the ruffled hem the best! It retails for $628.00 at Eluxury.com

You can also go green with this very bright apple green Fendi logo wallet. It features the classic chain and is a real statement piece. Once again, something you'll be able to wear through Spring. If you want a very fabulous place to store your money and credit cards for about $580.00, visit Eluxury.com

This watersnake hobo from Christian Louboutin is the most beautiful mint green color I've seen in a while. I love the look and I'm sure I'd love the supple texture even more! In order to have this piece of arm candy, you'd have to be willing to shell out a pretty penny, $2,895 to be exact. Gotta have it? Head over to neimanmarcus.com

This Versace resin link bracelet is so classy and simple. I love the stone in the middle, it adds character but is not too much. There's a time for huge stones and bangles, this bracelet is the opposite. It was retailing for $580.00 but it's marked down to $289.00 at Eluxury.com and I'm sure it will go quickly so if you like it, you'd better get it now.

And fellas, I didn't forget about you! You can rock these Steven Sprouse tribute collection Louis Vuitton graffiti sneaker boots for $980.00. Grab them over at Eluxury.com, they also come in orange.

If you're not trying to go all out....just pick up a simple shirt. I like the color of the one from Band of Outsiders. The overdyed batiste shirt is a bright green that's sure to make any St. Patty's day lucky! Head over to Eluxury.com to check it out.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Don't drink too much and stay fashionably green!

My Picks for Fall!! [Fun with Polyvore]

I was playing around on one of me fav sites ever, POLYVORE.COM, and I put together some looks I think are going to be fab for Fall. Nothing too serious, very simple looks, as I am a very simple girl. I love to keep the accessories balanced, but I believe they're always necessary. Check it out. You can click the link for specifics on what's what and where to get it.

For the Workplace, more of a preppy look. Love the blazer (Forever 21! Can you believe it) and the mustard Gucci Hysteria bag is to die for! And the YSL shoe is hot! I love the platform part of it! The different textures of the bag and shoe reall kick the look up a notch.

Next, more for the weekend or a night out on the town, I love this rocker-chic look. I am absolutely in love with these shoes! They are by Paule KA and the blue heel is what I decided to create the look around. I love extra long tees and tanks so I had to go with this A&F one and the jacket was previously featured in my Fab Find post. Again, I am big on accessories, but instead of a stacked look, I thought chunky would work better with this.

Now I'm not a big fan of "matchy matchy," but I love the Gucci Babouska line and wanted to throw something together that picked up on the metals used in the collection. I love the flat boot, but I know we all also love a heel, so I thought the bootie was most appropriate for this look. A basic black skinny jean, and how can you go wring with a classic Chanel bag? Oh and the DVB sunglasses don't hurt either.

I thought this combination was rather different, as one wouldn't expect this dress to be paired with this shoe, but I think it works. I love the frayed looks this season and I'm sure we'll be seeing more of it soon. The metallic dress is toned down by the black book and pea coat, but the black pearl jewelry is sure to make a statement. I love that most likely with the jacket on, you have no idea that this beautiful dress is underneath.

Last but not least, I had to complete a look that uses one of my fav pieces: the black combat-ish boot. I love this look and I first began to notice it when Lindsay Lohan started to wear her worn out vintage ones (I mean that in a good way, lol) and it soon caught on and people like Cassie began to rock them (see the sideshow on the right). The Miu Miu boots are paired with black tights, a simple graphic tee which could be anything, and a motorcycle jacket. This is the statement piece, along with the boots. I love these weaved stacked bracelets and the hat is thrown in there for good fun, but I could so see it working.

Well those are a few samples of what I like for fall, and will be trying to duplicate myself all season. Let me know what you think!
