What's on the Tube: Harlem Heights

Well it's obvious I got my fair share of BET last night! Right after Rip the Runway was the premiere of Harlem Heights a new reality series about a group of twenty-something socialite friends trying to make it big and lay their own paths in their respective industries. They reside in Harlem, and they are very proud of it! I have only been able to visit Harlem once but when I went I love it! I only wish I could have stayed longer!

Anyways, I'm excited to finally see a reality show on BET that is not a joke or embarrasing...."not all black people live in the ghetto" (Baldwin Hills anyone?) Of course, the drama is there because what's good TV w/o drama, right? But I like it so far. It's socially conscious ad I love that all of these people are doing great things. Law school, designers for Victoria's Secret, Nonprofit execs...it's all so inspiring! I love it....hopefully they don't make me regret it! lol

And to bring it back to fashion....what is Brooke wearing at the premiere party? *smh* Kanye's ex is trying to be a little too different here for me. It is dancing on the line between high-fashion and skanky. Hmmmm Brooke, I don't know about this one, but the rest of the girls looked fabulous!

I love watching just to see what the girls pop up in next, especially Brianna!

Monday nights @ 10pm.....7pm for those on the WC with DirecTv.... :) Enjoy!

The Hotness: Rip The Runway 2009

So BET aired their annual fashion show concert last night and a part of me was impressed while the other part was left wanting more....

JOY BRYANT and DEREK LUKE had a mini Antwone Fisher reunion as the shows hosts and I was a little bored with them. I liked Lauren London and Nelly last year better.

TOCARRA blessed the stage along with every other past ANTM contestant! I mean I saw girls from like 4 seasons ago! At least they're getting some work...I'm not mad at them! She is pictured with The Dream Rockin That Thing.

The big girls stepped out and represented well. I know this show usually includes them, but this year they rocked swimsuits! And they had the most attitude and uumph on the catwalk! I loved it!

Some of the other designers included Korto, who was recently a finalist on Project Runway, Byron Lars, Johnny Vincent, and Akoo. To get the full list, look at more fashions and get backstage access visit www.bet.com/riptherunway

Zane's Sex Chronicles Tonight!

I am very excited to see what the steamy one-named author ZANE has in store for us tonight. Tonight is the premiere of her cable television show Zane's Sex Chronicles, at midnight on Cinemax. I think it's going to be good; not watered down, but not too in your face. Here's what Zane had to say in regards to her input and say-so on the show to:

"I was on the set all day, everyday as the executive producer and writer. I was totally involved in the casting process and even found a couple of the characters myself.Suzanne de Passe and I were adamant about making sure that this was tastefully done and not letting women look like they normally look in a lot of these shows, like they are these sexual objects. I actually flipped the script on a lot, as I do in my books."

Tune in to the series premiere tonight at midnight and catch new episodes every Friday night through December. For more hot scenes, visit www.cinemax.com/zane.

Boob Tube: "How You Doooiiin?!?!"

OK, so I've already made it clear that for some strange reason I love this woman. LIke WENDY always says, she's a "friend in my head." I love how she is completely real and honest on her show and she brought that hilarious, in your face attitude to the tv screen this week with the 6-week sneak peek of her new daily television series. I have watched every show so far and I love it. The funny ad libs and comments she makes keep me laughing. I was particularly touched today when I saw her break down when an audience member spoke candidly about her 5 miscarriages, something she and WILLIAMS have in common. This was a very touchy subject and a commercial break was taken to help get back on track. As funny and sarcastic as she is, it was good to see a more vulnerable, soft side of WENDY. I am definitely a fan, and the TiVo is currently on Season Record. It airs at 1pm West Coast time (so do the math to figure out when you can catch it) on Fox 11. Hope you like it, I sure do!

I'm excited about this.....

The Real Housewives of ATLANTA!

The show that originally began with the OC, then added on a New York cast, which I love by the way has taken it to the south. The newest addition of Housewives will be women for Atlanta, Georgia. The successful women are all beautiful, and look stylish, so you know this is my cup of tea! That's the reason I loved the NYC version so much, the ladies were like a Sex & the City meets Desperate Housewives! Here is some info on the cast according to E!
The camera-ready hausfraus this time around:

* Deshawn Snow: nonprofit founder, wife of Cleveland Cavaliers baller Eric Snow
* Kim Zolciack: single mom, aspiring country-music singer
* Lisa Wu Hartwell: real estate firm owner, jewelry and baby-clothing designer, model, actress, writer...and wife of Oakland Raiders linebacker Ed Hartwell
* NeNe Leakes: nonprofit founder, wife of real estate investor, two sons
* Sheree Whitfield: single mother of three, clothing-line owner

All of whom are at the center of the Atlanta social scene, Bravo promises.

A preview of the show airs July 30th at Midnight on Bravo (I know right? Why midnight?!)

Boob Tube: Cashmere Mafia

I love this show! It is sooo "SEX & THE CITY" but I love it just the same! CASHMERE MAFIA is about four women who live in New York City juggling successful careers, marriages, children and dating. I was addicted to "Sex & the City" so much so this is like a little dose to give me my fix! Of course I am in love with the wardrobe more than anything else. The different designers, the fashions, the bags! It's sooo great! They remind me of how I'd like to be in about 7 years! In NYC with all my friends meeting for lunch to dish about the latest happenings in our lives. It just started, so there;s still a chance to catch up. CASHMERE MAFIA airs Wednesday's at 10pm, so you will have to TiVo or DVR Project Runway! Hope you like it!

Boob Tube: Reality TV

The show we've all been waiting for....well @ least I know I have: RUN'S HOUSE! Season 4 will premiere October 25th @ 10:00 pm on MTV. The family is all back under one roof, and will be focused on adopting a new addition to the family due after the unfortunate passing of their baby girl last year. You gotta love this family, be sure & watch!

From a different side of the tracks is Ms. Keyshia Cole. She too has a reality show which will be premiering it's second season on BET October 30th @ 10:30 pm. The show picks up where it left off last season, with Cole trying to balance her successful music career and her family issues. She moves her family in with her down in Atlanta, and is trying to break her new artist Amina into the industry, all while maintaining her own sanity. This should be a good season...I'll be tuning in.

Boob Tube: Shows I'm Lovin

Ok soo... "The Game" is my absolute favorite show on TV right now. I was kind of iffy on it when it first began but I quickly got hooked and this season is even better than the last! It has gotten so 'real', and it's a pleasure to see Tia Mowry (who plays Melanie Barnett) really acting. Not to discredit her in any way for she and Tamera's "Sister, Sister" which was also most definitely one of my favs back in the day, lol. But she is showing her very broad range and last week when she broke down because she was torn between what she knew was the "right" thing to do and what her heart was telling her, I cried too. And those of you who know me, know I cry off of anything, but this was really great acting. To make a long story short, I LOVE IT, and I'm recommending it to you. It airs on the CW, which is channel 5 on Monday's @ 9:30/8:30central. Hope you watch it! PS Wendy Raquel Robinson's performance will have you laughing out loud, for real! She's hilarious on there! :)

Television: Are You going to Watch?

So since they give anyone a show these days, I don't even really care about Reality TV anymore (except for ANTM). But while I was watching VH1's "Hip Hop Honors" the little previews of "The Salt N' Pepa Show" and "Gotti's Way" reeled me in. Both of the shows seem real, not scripted and I think because I already know who these people are, it'll be even better. Gotti's is about trying to put his infamous record label "The Inc." formerly "Murder Inc" back on top and the famous rap duo we all know as Salt N Pepa are at odds becuase of their adverse lifestyles. Pepa is jokes, and on those previews she had me laughing "more than a little bit!" So I will definitely be tuning on Monday October 15th. Will you?
