Look of the Week

I think JANET JACKSON looked so cute at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards this weekend! I am a huge fan of these types of dresses and her tiny waist doesn't hurt the look either! She wore the classic black YSL Tribute pumps with he outfit and her hair is amazing! I love the look all around!

I Want That: Sam Edelman Strapped Booties

Since these Sam Edelman shoes were released last year, I was not able to find them anywhere for their original price. Apparently since they are sold out, it makes them an even hotter buy and the prices have more than doubled! They look like the BALENCIAGA (pictured in brown) booties that I posted on back in January. Surprisingly, I actually like Sam's version better, and would much rather prefer those. They were originally $175, but I found them on Ebay for upwards for $400.00. I wish I would have gotten a pair before they sold out! Grrrrr!

The Hotness: Gladiator Sandal

I love this style of sandal, and I see it really taking off this year. My friends and I refer to them as "Jesus Shoes," either way, either name... they are hot! I love the shades of brown they come in. Some of the designers to design shoes in this style already are DOLCE & GABBANA, PRADA, THEORY and JOIE. Take a look at some of my picks for the summer:

"Gladiator Flat Sandal" by Dolce & Gabbana, retail price $485.00:

• Cognac (brown) leather.
• Gold-tone hardware.
• Strappy upper.
• Hook-and-loop ankle straps.
• Flat heel.
• Made in Italy.

"Leather Gladiator Flat" by Prada, retail price $495.00:

• Brown leather.
• Crisscross upper.
• Halter ankle strap.
• Made in Italy.

Due to high demand, a customer may order no more than three units of this item every thirty days.

"Woven Sandal" by Joie, retails for $315.00:

• Can't Help Myself Style.
• Natural (tan) woven leather.
• Closed back.
• Flat heel.
• Imported.

"Mirror Metallic Strappy Flat" by Theory, retails for $240.00:
• Nanna Style.
• Choose black (shown) or gray (see below) metallic leather.
• Strappy upper.
• Flat heel.

Nicky Hilton is pictured here in her gladiator sandals by Matt Bernson last summer. I definitely see this style re-emerging and being one of the hottest shoes of the summer. (image property of www.shoewawa.com)

It's Coming.....

....LANCE GROSS.

This guy caught my eye and I think that he has a very bright future ahead of him [Not to mention I think he's gorgeous!] I first spotted him on the hit series "House of Payne," the Tyler Perry creation that has gained popularity over the past year. He plays Calvin Payne on the show, an air headed comedic college student. He made his big screen debut this month in Tyler Perry's "Meet the Browns." GROSS received his Bachelor of Arts degree in theater from Howard University, and this show is not his first taste of the silver screen. He was also in Mary J. Blige's "Take Me As I Am" video. Look out....he's coming!

Who Wore What: Casual Cuteness

This week, being out of town and extremely busy, I have been a little behind on the blogging, but I did notice some very stylish outfits on some celebs out and about. First is a woman who frequently wears clothes that don't particularly hug her tight, but she knows how to stay stylish in her loose fitting duds. Here TAMEKA RAYMOND, Usher's newlywed, wears a pair of dark brown boots, blue jeans and a champagne colored button up top with a tie belt around the waist. This is my kind of top, simply becuase I like his style ans own a few myself, but in black and tan.

Next is TRACEE ELLIS ROSS, a woman that I feel is one of the most original dressers in the biz. She always brings something different, but she also stays cute while doing it. Even when she's stepping out for a coffee in a pair of sweats, they are "Free City" sweats, and she adds her own twist to everything. I love this look becuase the shoes are hot, and if I am not mistaken, are Prada. I saw them on display at Bergdorf Goodman this week while in New York, just in a different color, and they caught my eye then. The other part of this outfit is the skirt, I love the pattern and the way it puffs out past the hips. I love the entire look, head to toe! Though it may not be viewed a necessarily casual, it's no a ballroom gown or anything!

I am absolutely loving EVE's look in this shot. I am a fan of these type of little jacket/sweaters. She is sporting the pair of American Apparel tights I've done a few features on before.
I think the shoes she has on are Christian Louboutin, or at least they look like his "Jeweled Slingbacks." The look is completed with a knit beanie and is very casual but still very cute. Love it!

Next is a girl who does more modeling than singing, and that's perfectly fine with me! CASSIE and her friend are out and about on the streets of LA, in very simple but stylish outfits. I love her glasses! Vintage & Retro, 2 of my favorite's! I am also really noticing the combat boot and tights really taking it's place in the fashion world. She sports the look with a loss fitting electric blue top and an oversized bag. Her friend looks just as adorable in a gray v-neck top by American Apparel with skinny jeans and flat sandals. I love her scarf, which I can't really tell if it's a vest or scarf, but wither way it's cute!

And last but not least is EVA MARCELLE, who always dresses amazingly in my opinion, looks great the the ceremony for Angela Bassett's Star induction in Hollywood. It looks to be a simple top from American Apparel, with a very cute high waisted skirt that ties with an attached belt. I am loving her accessories! I love layered jewelry, especially necklaces. Here she layers 3 on her neck, accentuating the deep V in the shirt along with stacked bracelet and bangles on her wrists. Very hot!!

So I'm headed to take a bite of the Big Apple!

I'll be in New York for the next week for spring break. This is my first time going, so you know I'm super excited!!! I'll be there for a Fashion Tour, and some fun too of course! As this is my first time there, if any one reading this knows any hot spots that I should definitely stop by, feel free to email me and let me know!! I would appreciate it! :) I'm taking my laptop, so updates shouldn't be completely out of the question, but I will be constantly on the go. Anywho, I'm excited! :)

I Love My.....

.....HERMES BELT!!!

KELLY ROWLAND loves her Hermes belt! As she should....it's a classic piece to add to your wardrobe because it is timeless. She has been pictured all over, LA, Miami, New York etc. wearing the belt in both black and a tan color. The belt is actually reversible, so it's the same every time. However she does have the two different "H" buckles, one in gold and one in silver. When I really get into belts, it's going to be something I invest in, but right now I'm just not that into them. This belt retails for $540.00 and you can visit the website to check it out.

In the first shot she's wearing a white cut out tank with a pair of dark was denim jeans and red jeweled sandals. Not to mention, the hat and hair are amazing!! The belt she wore this night, while out and about in Miami was the calf skin side with the gold buckle. Next she wore all black, with the belt on the black side and the silver "H" buckle, with her tan Louis Vuitton bag. A very simple, yet chic look. The cardigan and skinny pants are classy.

She also wears the belt on the black side with the silver buckle another time while out and about for lunch. She has on a short sleeve white tee with denim jeans and a cute beanie. The silver bag can go, but it doesn't look bad. Also at a figure skating event, she wore the belt ont he same side, but with the gold buckle with a long sleeve striped shirt and pair of jeans with red accessories. I like this look, it seems very nautical to me.

The last look I caught was Kelly in a navy blue ribbed tank top, white pants, silver sandals, and the belt on the tan side with the gold belt buckle. I love this look and I love how she keeps it pretty basic. It gives accessories like these their time to shine! Loves it! The belts are hot, and like I said above, it's an investment. It's a timeless piece, so you won't be upset you spent over $500 on it because it will always be a staple in your closet.

Thanks to KellyRowlandweb.com for the pics!! :)

On The Hunt......I found it!

With the help of you all, and a little research on my part, I found out who the jacket MARY KATE had on was by. Ironically it was listed in the celeb faux pas, but I love it. It was only in there because they thought it was too big for her. Anyways, like my friend Joanna told me, it is GIVENCHY, thanks girlie! Here's what Kat Giantis had to say about it:

"The same goes for the gold studs on her Givenchy leather jacket, which on anyone else would merely be a bold embellishment. On MK, however, they're a major cause for concern. Are her sleeves hanging limply by her sides because she doesn't have the proportional strength to lift them?"

I don't care, I think it's hot! She is pictured here at Giambattista Valli's inaugural show for Moncler during Paris Fashion Week.

On The Hunt......

For Mary Kate's Jacket!!! I am in love with this vintage embellished leather jacket she has on! I want to know what, where and how much! If anyone knows, please email me!

Style Showdown: Erykah Badu vs. Rihanna

Both ladies were spotted in the same, very cute Marios Schwab puffer jacket that retails for about $1300. The jacket is from his 2007 Winter Collection and puts a spin on the typical puff coat. It is designed to look like a dress and I absolutely love it! Both ERYKAH and RIHANNA wore the jackets during performances. RIHANNA paired the jacket with tights and thight high dominatrix style boots, while ERYKAH accesorized with lens-less glasses, a brown polka dot scarf and a hat. What do you think? Who won this "Style Showdown?"

Hot Album!

ERYKAH BADU's New Album "New Amerykah" is hot! I totally recommend going out and getting it if you have not already. "The Healer," an ode to Hip Hop is one of my favorite. My fav line is "we ain't dead/we been living through your internet" referring to bootlegging and downloading of songs. "Honey," her current single is a fun song, with a great track behind it. Another song on there with a hot track is "My People," my friends and I were saying it sounds like she's going to bust out in a freestyle. If you haven't heard it have a listen. And as for me, I'm still over here cranking "Kiss Me on My Neck" off of the "MaMa's Gun" album from 8 years ago.

My Interview with D. Woods for Seventeen Magazine!

I got to interview D. Woods of Danity Kane for Seventeen Magazine and wrote a story about it. She is the new spokeswoman for LUXIRIE by LRG. It was amazing meeting her, her personality is like a friend from around the way. But I can't post too many photos yet, as Seventeen has not yet released the story. But here's a pic of me & the lovely lady herself on set of the photoshoot.

The Ultimate Style Showdown!

So this jacket was spotted last year on three of my favorite people when it comes to music and fashion: KELIS, BEYONCE & RIHANNA and it resurfaced this week on D. WOODS of Danity Kane, who I just recently interviewed in LA for a Seventeen magazine feature. I noticed this last year in September and submitted it to Concreteloop.com for the "Who Rock'd It Better?" section. The jacket is very popular and cute at that. A biker inspired jacket is embellished with studding all over to give it a more glamorous look.

BEYONCE was wearing it while out and about in New York, KELIS in LA and RIHANNA at the Live Earth concert in Tokyo. Most recently, D. Woods, on the set of a video shoot for DK, was spotted rocking the hot item. So what so you think? Who looks best? Do you like the jacket lighted up by BEYONCE with white pants? KELIS' denim approach? RIHANNA's bodysuit number, or D. WOODS' shirtless, metallic bra look?

Sorry about the lack of Updates!

I have not been able to post like I would like to because I've been going non-stop! I was working on wardrobe for a film 12 hrs a day, then I had to interview D. Woods of Danity Kane for Seventeen Magazine, which was amazing by the way, and now to top it all off, this week is midterms! So you can very well imagine just how hectic things are with me right now! There's so much I want to post and share, but I literally have no time!! I will be going to New York on Saturday for Spring Break, and while I'm there, hopefully I'll get some downtime....but I doubt it, as this is my first time to the Big Apple! Thank you so much for reading my blog, and I'm so sorry that it's been sitting idle for some days now. I WILL be back soon, I promise! :)

Fashion Forecast: It's Coming.....

......the Peep toe Bootie!

This is a little section I've created that will feature what trend I see emerging, sort of a fashion forecast. Last season, I knew the wooden heel would be all the rage, and now I am predicting the peep toe booties, both sling back and closed. It's going to take me some time to get used to it, but I think they will grow on me. The black pair pictured are from CHLOE and you can check them out here.

We've already seen these shoes on the feet of SOLANGE, ALEXIS PHIFER, KERI HILSON, and most recently JULISSA on the "Rip the Runway" red carpet. The shoes are not that easy on the eye, but I am thinking they will grow on the fashion world. It's hard to pair them up with an outfit, but the ladies here did a fairly good job. I especially like the way KERI is wearing the shoes. I definitely like black over the white. That's my forecast for the "it" shoe this Spring, let's see how it plays out! :)

Style Showdown: Ashley Olsen vs. Rihanna

So I love these shoes! I think they are too adorable! I posted them a while back in November on ASHLEY OLSEN in white and pink and they resurfaced this weekend on the oh-so-stylish RIHANNA in black and lime green. They are amazing both times and I love them in both colors! OLSEN rocks them with a very very cute white puff sleeve dress and RIHANNA chooses an almost similar black one. These looks like the perfect shoes for Spring, especially the color OLSEN has on. Very cute!!

Double Takes: Nicole Scherzinger's Entire Outfit

This is pretty rare, unless you're known for rocking a uniformed look like say...Lindsay Lohan. But for Pussycat Doll NICOLE SCHERZINGER, I was pretty surprised. Remember this "Double Takes" section is not at all criticizing people for wearing the same thing twice, it's just something I've created for when I spot the same thing, typically on the same person, twice. Sometimes it's a shirt, a pair of shoes, a jacket, or a bag....but this time it's the entire outfit! The PCD first wore this black cropped pea coat, thick black belt w/square buckle, high waisted wide leg jeans, and black bracelet back in October to a KISS FM event. She recently stepped out for dinner at Mr. Chows last week, looking identical to herself (down to the hairstyle) almost 4 months ago. I think it's great if you love something so much you wear it more than once, in fact I think it's silly to buy something you don't see yourself re-using! So SCHERZINGER was obviously feeling herself from head to toe back in October, because she threw it on again. It's kind of silly to ask which time do you think it looked better, as I usually do, because there's no difference in the two shots. But anyhow, she looks amazing both times!
